Summer Wedding at The Hive | Madie + Ulyses

A Summer Wedding at The Hive in Idaho | Madie + Ulyses

Welcome to Feature Friday! This is where we’ll be sharing our couples’ love stories and real weddings! We’re starting off with Madie and Ulyses’s summer wedding at the Hive, our wedding venue in Pocatello, Idaho. I interviewed Madie and got all the details from her!

How did you and your husband meet?

My husband and I met in college. We instantly became best friends and dated for 2 years before he proposed. He proposed with a lot of flowers, a beautiful fire, and a candlelit dinner. There was a videographer there to document everything too.  We graduated together, moved to another city, and are now expecting a baby boy.

What was the overall vibe of your day? What were your colors? Did you have any theme? What were your flowers like? Was there any special decor?

We were married on July 30, 2021. It was sunny, warm, and elegant. Our colors were green, gold, and ivory. The women wore lots of sparkles and the men wore black suits and bow ties. Our wedding flowers had a lot of greenery with large white flowers. We had photos in gold frames everywhere, candles, and flower petals. (This is the best —>) We served gelato from a beautiful ice cream cart like you would see in Italy. Also, we had a large white and gold wedding cake with greenery surrounding it. (I mean, how perfect is serving gelato from a cart on a warm summer evening?!)

Tell us all about your dress! Did you wear any special jewelry? What were your shoes like?

My dress was very elegant. It was long sleeve with a beautiful neckline, tight to show a good silhouette, and a very long train. Diamonds went down the back zipper. I wore a very long veil with my hair pulled back in a low bun to show my neck. My diamond earrings matched the back of the dress, as well as my “something borrowed” diamond clip for my hair. I wore ivory shoes with diamonds on them.

What was your favorite memory from the day?

Definitely the ceremony and saying “I Do”! I also loved dancing at the reception and spending time with family and friends.

Did you have a favorite part about The Hive that we can share?

I loved the large space and sound system. It made everything turn out perfect. I also loved the brides room space where me and my girls could get ready together.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to anyone planning a wedding?

Get as much help as you can and don’t do everything yourself. People want to help and support you.
